Job summary

The Stroke Association is seeking a part-time Peer Support Officer to join the South West, Wessex & Channel Islands service delivery team. This home-based role requires travel across Gloucestershire and occasionally the South West locality.

You will lead involvement of stroke survivors and carers, develop peer support groups, and coordinate with healthcare professionals to improve experiences and outcomes. The role is fixed-term for 1 year, 21 hours per week, with a salary of £17,800 per annum.

Qualifications

• Experience and understanding of meaningful involvement of people affected by stroke.
• Ability to prioritise work using data-driven approaches.
• Willingness to travel across Gloucestershire and beyond as part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Lead the involvement of people affected by stroke to prioritise our work and improve experiences.
• Develop peer support groups across Gloucestershire.
• Collaborate with health care professionals, clinicians, managers and leads.
• Manage volunteers and build stroke communities to support survivors and carers.
• Work with locality teams to deliver engagement activity.
