UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL SOUTHAMPTON NHS FOUNDATION TRUST is seeking an Assistant Sleep Physiologist (Band 2) to join the Adult Sleep Team on a permanent, part-time basis (15h/week). The role includes inpatient care, night shifts, and daytime outpatient support at Lymington New Forest Hospital.

You will assist with sleep testing, CPAP management and patient guidance within a busy, expanding service. The successful applicant will be organized, reliable and proactive with a keen eye for detail.

Responsabilités

• Support the Sleep Physiology Team to deliver an efficient service, including one night shift per week.
• Assist with inpatient diagnostic sleep testing and CPAP therapy support for patients.
• Help manage the patient support line, stock levels, and equipment/consumables for the adult sleep service.
• Collaborate with NIV and neurology services as part of a multidisciplinary approach.
• Provide flexible support for outpatient activity as required.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Sleep Physiology Team in delivering an efficient service to our patients, mostly within an inpatient setting (one night shift per week). However flexibility will be expected to support with outpatient activity as required. You will participate in the care of patients attending the service for diagnostic sleep testing and will offer continuous support to patients on long-term CPAP therapy. You will also help managing our patient support line, assist with effective stock management, maintenance of equipment and consumables used within the adult sleep service. You will work collaboratively and co-operatively with other colleagues on a day-to-day basis, to meet patient and service needs.

The successful applicant will be organised, reliable, proactive and have the ability to work flexibly. A keen eye for detail and accuracy is also required. You will be based at Lymington New Forest Hospital, where free on-site staff parking is available.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team in the Adult Sleep Team at University Hospital Southampton (UHS). Our sleep service is expanding, and we are looking for an Assistant Sleep Physiologist (Band 2) to join the team, on a permanent and part-time basis (15h/week). As a service we accept referrals for sleep-disordered breathing, parasomnias, circadian rhythm and movement disorders, and work closely with other specialist areas (such as NIV and neurology services), to offer a multidisciplinary team approach to our patients.
