Job summary

Sherwood Foundation School is seeking a part-time Teaching Assistant (30.75 hours/week, term time plus one week) to support autistic and other learners across three campuses: Sherwood Hill, Sherwood Park and Sherwood Manor. The role is permanent and salary is on the NJC pay scale Grade 4-5.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis with positions open until filled. Successful candidates will join a dedicated team providing high levels of support and inclusion across settings.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting students in a classroom environment is desirable, including those with special educational needs.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and work effectively as part of the school team with students, parents and carers.
• Establish positive relationships with students and support their needs.
• Provide levels of individual attention and help with learning tasks as appropriate.
• Physically support learners and assist with positioning and hoisting where needed.
• Support learners with independence and personal care with dignity and respect.
