Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant Level 2 to work with groups of primary pupils with additional needs. Initially based in Years 5 and 6, the role is flexible to support across the school or provide one-to-one SEND assistance.

The post offers a permanent contract from January 2027 for 22 hours per week (Mon-Thu 9:00–3:30) at Band B, SCP 4, with a pro rata annual salary of £13,803 to £26,016.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum Level 2 qualification with experience of working with primary age children with additional needs.
• Experience in delivering targeted support and liaising with teachers and external agencies.

Aufgaben

• Develop a holistic approach to meeting needs, enabling learners to progress with support from teachers and colleagues.
• Implement Individual Education/Behaviour Plans, Risk Assessments, Personal Care as required.
• Promote inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
• Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by teachers.
• Set challenging expectations and promote self-esteem and independence.
• Help pupils develop resilience and independence, forming positive relationships.
• Attend training and work with internal and external professionals.
• Track progress of pupils with additional needs using data and share findings with the Inclusion Co-ordinator.
