Job summary

Boreham Primary School in Boreham, Chelmsford, Essex, is seeking a dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to support a pre-verbal reception pupil with an EHCP, starting as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will work to gain attention, help the pupil communicate needs, shadow and model safe learning, and collaborate with other professionals.

This fixed term post runs Monday to Friday, 8:35am to 1pm, and welcomes visits from candidates.

Qualifications

• Be passionate about supporting pupils with SEND.
• Have experience of supporting pupils with additional needs within a classroom.
• Have experience of working with pre-verbal pupils to support and interpret their intentions.
• Able to follow SLT plans to develop communication.
• Have excellent communication skills.
• Patient, flexible and supportive in their approach, showing initiative and an ability to work independently if necessary.
• Have a good sense of humour.
