Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Secondary Teaching Assistant for a part-time, permanent role in Rochdale. Working Wednesday to Friday, you will provide one-to-one and small group support to secondary-age students and help them access GCSE and entry-level content.

You will assist in implementing IEPs and EHCP targets, support SEMH needs, and work closely with teachers, families and external agencies to raise attainment and confidence.

Qualifications

• SEND experience within a setting with mainstream peers.
• Ability to support GCSE or entry-level curriculum delivery.
• Calm, empathetic and proactive approach to SEMH needs.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Qualification in support, care or education desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support to secondary-age students.
• Support access to GCSE and entry-level curriculum content alongside mainstream peers.
• Help implement IEPs and EHCP targets.
• Support students' SEMH needs.
• Work closely with teaching staff, families, and external agencies.
