Job summary

Longtown Primary School is seeking a part-time Site Assistant to support caretaking, handyman tasks, and security for the school and centre. The role involves routine maintenance, clearing rubbish, organising seating and equipment, and assisting with movement of resources around the site.

The successful candidate will work independently or as part of a team, with awareness of health and hygiene procedures and a willingness to participate in training. Enhanced DBS checks are required.

Qualifications

• Awareness of Health & Hygiene procedures.
• Willingness to attend and participate in training.
• Ability to identify own training needs and address them.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to relate well to children.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance and handyman duties, including minor repairs.
• Clear rubbish from the school site and exterior areas.
• Clear daily letters from the exterior of the building and empty external bins.
• Set out seating, desks and move equipment to support school operations.
• Move resources around the school, including use of the school minibus or similar.
• Secure the premises and carry out security duties including responding to alarms.
