Job summary

New Inn Primary School, part of the Schools Catering Team run by Torfaen County Borough Council, is recruiting a catering assistant for 15 hours a week.

You will help with food prep, serving meals, cleaning, and operating cashless tills, while maintaining high hygiene standards and accurate record keeping.

An Enhanced DBS check is required, and Welsh language skills are welcome; the role demands pace in a busy kitchen and the ability to follow health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist across all areas of the kitchen to meet required standards
• Prepare food
• Serve appetising meals

• Observe and comply with hygiene and health and safety procedures
• Ensure the safe and correct use of all kitchen equipment
• Undertake training as necessary
• Keep full and accurate entries and records in line with Catering Department procedures
