Job summary

Lincolnshire Gateway Academies Trust is seeking a part-time Custodian for 10 hours per week (7am–9am) to help keep the academy premises safe, clean and well maintained during term time.

The role involves routine inspections, basic maintenance, cleaning checks and reporting defects or health and safety concerns, with DBS and pre-employment checks in line with safer recruitment practices.

Qualifications

• Carry out routine site inspections and safety checks.
• Assist with cleaning standards and report concerns.
• Carry out minor maintenance tasks within competence.
• Monitor contractors on site and ensure safe practices.

Responsibilities

• 1. Undertake routine compliance and safety checks allocated through the Trust CAFM system.
• 2. Carry out regular monitoring checks of cleaning standards and report concerns to the line manager.
• 3. Assist with routine upkeep of the school site and external areas.
• 4. Undertake minor maintenance tasks and basic repairs within competence.
• 5. Carry out visual inspections and promptly report defects, hazards or security concerns.
• 6. Monitor contractors working on site and report any issues relating to safe working practices.
• 7. Follow all Trust Health and Safety procedures and relevant risk assessments.
• 8. Help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
• 9. Report urgent Health and Safety concerns immediately to the line manager.
• 10. Attend training relevant to the duties of the post.
