Job summary

Education Authority is seeking a Catering Manager to lead day-to-day kitchen operations across school dining sites in Antrim-Ballymena. You will organise service points, supervise assistants and ensure meals meet dietary and safety standards while driving quality and efficiency.

You will manage menus, portion control and stock, promote the catering service to pupils and staff, and maintain records of safety checks and training across the unit.

Qualifications

• Hold NVQ level 2 in food preparation and cooking or City & Guilds 706-1 & 706-2 or higher
• Two years’ demonstrable catering experience
• Experience supervising a catering team
• Knowledge of HACCP and food safety

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of food service and dining operations.
• Manage stock, ordering and wastage to minimise costs.
• Ensure allergen management and compliance with food safety regulations.
• Monitor kitchen equipment for safe operation and arrange repairs.
• Promote catering services to increase meal uptake among pupils and staff.
• Liaise with school leadership and parents to ensure quality catering service.
