Job summary

Vertas is seeking a dedicated Caretaker for Bramcote Hills Primary, NG9 3GE. The role involves maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

You will cover 17.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 15:00 to 18:30, 52 weeks a year, and undertake routine checks and basic maintenance. Key responsibilities include opening and securing premises, monitoring safety, supporting contractors, and reporting issues promptly.

Qualifications

• Caretaker role requires prior caretaking, site management or maintenance experience is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Good communication and problem solving skills.
• Proactive and reliable approach to work.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Opening and securing the school premises as required.
• Carrying out routine health and safety checks.
• Undertaking basic maintenance and repair tasks.

• Supporting contractors and site visitors when required.
• Ensuring the school site remains clean, safe and welcoming.
• Reporting maintenance issues and hazards promptly.
