Job summary

Reed's School in Cobham, Surrey, is seeking a friendly café assistant to join the catering team on Saturdays. You will deliver a welcoming service, prepare and serve food and drinks to high standards, and ensure all opening, service and closing procedures are carried out effectively.

The role requires maintaining safety, hygiene and allergen procedures, keeping accurate records, and supporting wider catering activities to create an exceptional experience for pupils, parents, staff and visitors.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering cafe or hospitality service with focus on high standards.
• Awareness of food safety, allergen handling and record-keeping.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities, with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an efficient and welcoming cafe service that reflects Reed's School standards.
• Prepare, present, and serve food and beverages professionally and safely.
• Ensure opening, service, and closing procedures are completed effectively.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-presented cafe environment at all times.
• Accurately complete food safety, cleaning, and compliance records.
• Follow allergen procedures and provide clear information to customers when required.
• Monitor standards, identify issues promptly, and take action to maintain service quality.
• Support the wider catering team to deliver an exceptional experience for pupils, parents, staff and visitors.
