Job summary

J.P. Morgan is seeking a Vice President, Risk Management (Part Time) to lead governance across Payments Client Service for EMEA and APAC from its Bournemouth area. The role requires senior, hands-on leadership, building a risk culture and ensuring proactive risk management and regulatory compliance.

You will partner with Control Management, Compliance, Legal, and Operations, driving risk-based improvements and executive-level reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience as a people manager in a banking environment.
• Ability to interpret and apply regulatory standards.
• Strong stakeholder management across multiple lines of business and control functions.
• Analytical mindset with ability to absorb complex information and form conclusions.
• Proven ability to lead end-to-end projects.
• Solid knowledge of Payments products and services.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including executive-level reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead regional team; set objectives, operating rhythm, and accountability.
• Drive performance management, goal setting, feedback, and development planning.
• Build an inclusive team culture with cross-regional coverage and execution discipline.
• Oversee risk identification, assessment, and management for EMEA and APAC.
• Maintain a preventive risk management focus with stakeholders to strengthen controls.
• Partner with Global Governance to shape regional content for governance meetings.
• Oversee charter model and IAS coverage for Client Service.
• Develop and maintain audit/exam materials and evidence-ready information suites.
• Partner with Client Service to support root cause analysis and process improvements.
• Analyze data and develop metrics, reporting, and executive materials for senior forums.
• Coordinate internal/external audits, data breach/privacy incidents, and data risk management.
