Job summary

Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Substantive Consultant in Rheumatology for a part-time post, 3.5 days per week, with a flexible portfolio of interests. The department runs an Early Arthritis Clinic and sub-speciality clinics, supported by a culture of research and continuous improvement.

Applicants ideally will be on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of CCT in Rheumatology. Pro-rata appointment to manage a mixed referral pool across specialties.

Qualifications

• MRCP must be held or within six months of CCT.
• GMC registration and licence to practice required.
• CCT in Rheumatology or within six months of obtaining this.
• MD/MSc or equivalent research qualification preferred.
• GMC Specialist Register or CESR path acceptable for some routes.
• CCT in General Medicine may support broader eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead care for a mixed pool of referrals from community and other specialties.
• Work in a part-time capacity with 3.5 days per week commitment.
• Collaborate with SDEC and Emergency Medicine for admission prevention.
• Provide leadership and development within a multidisciplinary team.

CCT in Rheumatology with a speciality interest or within 6 months of obtaining this. Alternative route to specialist register (e.g. CESR)
