Job summary

Dollar Tree is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development at our Darlington, SC location. You will assist with daily store functions, help customers, and support the Store Manager in supervising staff.

The role emphasizes maintaining clean, well-stocked departments, following company policies, and ensuring a safe, friendly shopping environment while handling opening/closing procedures and basic payroll/scheduling tasks.

Qualifications

• Previous store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, bending.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional displays and store-front fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and deposits.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep store clean, restocked, and presentable; manage bathrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned.
