Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a part-time Food Service Supervisor to oversee the Nutrition and Food Services Department in our long-term care homes. You will lead dietary staff, ensure meals meet therapeutic diets, and support the Registered Dietitian to deliver resident-centered dining.

In this role you will help maintain HACCP standards, supervise daily operations, and coordinate audits. Strong leadership, communication, and knowledge of safety and nutrition for seniors are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Food Service and Nutrition Management.
• Membership in the CSNM.
• 1–2 years of supervisory experience in food services (long-term care, retirement living, or healthcare).
• Experience managing staff in a unionized environment is an asset.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets and senior nutrition.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily dietary staff activities.
• Ensure meals follow approved menus and therapeutic diets.
• Monitor meal service quality, temperature, presentation, and resident satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with LTC ministry regulations and public health standards.
• Assist with audits, inspections, and quality improvement.
• Schedule, assign, and monitor staff duties; training and coaching.
