Job summary

Onward Homes is hiring a Rent Support Specialist (Early Intervention Specialist) to join the Customer Accounts & Money Advice team. This 14-hour-per-week role, mainly Thursdays and Fridays, is hybrid/home-based with occasional site visits to neighbourhoods as required.

The role focuses on arrears management, income protection, and practical tenancy support while delivering excellent customer service. We value strong communication, empathy, and the ability to liaise with external agencies.

Qualifications

• Essential: GCSE standard or equivalent qualification/experience.
• Desirable: CIH or related housing qualification.

Responsibilities

• Manage lower-level arrears cases and related income activities.
• Provide welfare benefit advice and liaise with HB/DWP when needed.
• Ensure timely contact to secure payments and maintain income.
• Assist with tenancy sign-ups and inform customers of payments due.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to maximise income.
