Longleat Enterprises Ltd is seeking a Preventive Conservation Assistant to support the long-term care of collections at Longleat House. This position involves conservation cleaning, condition monitoring, and supporting collection projects.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable interest in museum, heritage or conservation work.
• Excellent attention to detail and a careful, methodical approach.
• Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Confidence handling a variety of practical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Carry out conservation cleaning of furniture and decorative arts.
• Undertake routine condition monitoring and report concerns.
• Support the Integrated Pest Management programme.
• Assist with collection moves and handling projects.
• Support exhibition preparation and collection care.
