The Pulteney Practice in Bath is seeking an experienced Healthcare Assistant for a part-time role. You will perform phlebotomy, BP monitoring, ECGs and assist with wound care, routine checks and health promotion activities. The work is mainly at the city centre site with some shifts at the Bathampton branch.

Training and upskilling opportunities are available. Applicants should have recent phlebotomy experience; HCA care certificate is desirable.

Undertake, record and follow guidelines for tasks with appropriate training
Urinalysis and preparation of specimens for pathology
Measure and record physiological measurements: BP, pulse, rhythm, temperature, height and weight, visual acuity
Venepuncture, ECG, glucose tolerance tests, peak flow readings, inhaler technique
Support and monitor patients during nebulisation therapy
Prepare and maintain environments and equipment before/during/after care interventions
Assist in raising awareness of health and wellbeing and promote self-management
Provide information to patients and groups within own competence
Undertake simple dressing procedures and support self-management of conditions
Understand long-term conditions and diagnostic interventions and treatments
Plan health promotion activities (smoking, exercise, diet)
Assess readiness to change and provide motivational support for smoking, obesity, healthy living
