Job summary

The New Surgery, Chesham is seeking an experienced phlebotomist to join our friendly team. The role is 9 hours per week, spread over three mornings (Tue/Wed/Thu, 9am–12pm) in a primary care setting.

You will collect blood samples using aseptic techniques, ensure patient comfort, and follow protocol to obtain consent and accurate labelling. EMIS records will be updated, and you will work closely with our clinical team.

Qualifications

• Essential: Good general education.
• Essential: Relevant venepuncture qualification.

Responsibilities

• Check patient identity and obtain consent for blood collection.
• Draw venous blood following aseptic technique to minimise pain.
• Maintain accurate patient records on EMIS and ensure proper labelling and packaging of samples.
• Submit samples to the laboratory promptly and liaise with lab staff as needed.
• Collaborate with nursing team and participate in audits and service improvements.
