Job summary

The Old Court House Surgery is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our experienced team on a part-time basis (6-8 hrs per week over 1 or 2 days). You will perform phlebotomy on-site and help improve patient access to services, under supervision of the Clinical Manager and nursing team.

Key duties include taking blood samples, recording contacts in patient records, and contributing to meetings. The role requires flexibility, compliance with policies, and strong communication with patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Certificate or equivalent phlebotomy training evidence.
• GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent).
• Experience in a front-facing healthcare role is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Take bloods as directed and in line with practice policies.
• Record all patient contacts contemporaneously in the medical record.
• Attend meetings and contribute where appropriate.
• Respond promptly to internal and external communications.
• Maintain accurate notes and ensure consent processes where applicable.
• Work with the clinical team to support patient access to phlebotomy services.
