Job summary

Ceredigion County Council Direct Payment Support Service is seeking a Personal Assistant / Support Worker to support a young lady in Rhydfelin. The role focuses on helping her build confidence, independence, and life skills, with community activities and shopping tasks, using public transport and budgeting.

The role requires reliability, patience, and good communication. Hours are 4 per week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with pay at £14 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Support the young lady to develop everyday life skills in a calm, positive manner.
• Assist with planning journeys and using public transport safely.
• Support shopping tasks, budgeting, and paying for purchases.
• Encourage participation in community activities and visits to cafes.
• Support interests in gardening, crafts and archery where appropriate.
• Promote independence, confidence, choice and dignity at all times.
• Provide gentle encouragement while letting her do as much as possible.
• Maintain boundaries and confidentiality at all times.
