Job summary

Great Western Railway (GWR) is recruiting a Payroll Supervisor to join our Payroll team in Bristol. This 18-month fixed-term contract is part-time, 21.5 hours per week, supporting weekly and four-weekly payrolls across GWR and Heathrow Express.

You will manage high-volume payroll data, respond to queries, and ensure accuracy and timely payments while complying with GDPR and data protection rules.

Qualifications

• Experience in handling large payroll environments with tight deadlines.
• Experience working with multiple terms and conditions of employment.
• Knowledge of payroll processes and statutory payroll legislation.
• Accurate and highly attentive to detail.

Responsibilities

• Collating, reviewing, and amending payroll data from various time and attendance systems and importing data into the payroll system while ensuring interfaces remain compliant.
• Resolving complex payroll queries in a professional and timely manner.
• Processing Court Orders, Attachment of Earnings (AOE), and other payroll deductions.
• Carrying out payroll data validation and checking to ensure accuracy.
• Supporting the wider Payroll team, including checking colleagues' work and providing cover when required.
• Calculating and processing payroll information for new starters and leavers.
