Job summary

The Best Connection is hiring a Payroll Assistant for a part-time role in Bromsgrove. You’ll handle weekly payroll end-to-end, ensure accurate calculations, and support pension processes in a fast-paced environment.

The role focuses on accuracy, data integrity, and providing excellent employee support. It offers a friendly office, flexible 25 hours per week, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Previous payroll experience (essential)
• Experience processing weekly payroll
• Knowledge of statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPP)
• Familiarity with pension auto-enrolment
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good organisational and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Weekly Payroll Processing: End-to-end processing, ensure hours, overtime, and deductions are accurate and deadlines met.
• Payroll Administration: Manage starters, leavers, updating records, and data accuracy.
• Statutory Payments: Calculate and administer SSP, SMP, and SPP per legislation.
• Pensions & Auto-Enrolment: Support pension processes, admin auto-enrolment and opt-ins/outs.
• Employee Support: Be first point of contact for payroll queries with clear information.
• Compliance & Accuracy: Ensure HMRC compliance and confidentiality.
• Reporting: Maintain data and produce reports for internal stakeholders.
