Job summary

24x7 Group is seeking a part-time Passenger Assistant to transport SEN students and vulnerable adults to and from school, college or day care. The role requires patience and empathy, and you will support drivers in various vehicles while ensuring safety and comfort on journeys.

You must pass an enhanced DBS check and have the right to work in the UK; training is provided. The position offers term-time work with monthly pay and the potential for long-term employment in a friendly team.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK is required.
• First Aid training is required or willing to undergo training.

Responsibilities

• Transport SEN or vulnerable children and adults to and from school, college or day care.
• Work in a safe, flexible manner and support company operations.
• Build positive relationships with passengers, carers and establishments.
• Assist drivers with company vehicles including cars and wheelchair accessible vehicles.
• Keep passengers comfortable and engaged during journeys.

Passenger Assistant Role And Responsibilities

Salary: £560 - £860 per month (route dependent)

Hours: 12.5 to 20 per week (varies by route)

Your Role

• Transport special needs (SEN) or vulnerable children and adults to and from school, college, or day care centres
• To work in an effective, safe, flexible manner and support the operation of the company.
• To quickly establish positive and professional relationships with passengers, their carers/parents, and the key people at the establishments they attend.
• To assist the driver in company supplied vehicles, which includes - cars, 8 seat people carriers and large wheelchair accessible vehicles.
• To be patient and empathic with the passengers and be able to keep them occupied and comfortable on journeys.

What You Need

• Pass an enhanced criminal record check as you will be working with children, young persons and/or vulnerable adults.
• Have the right to work in the UK.
• First Aid Training - and willing to undergo advanced specialist medical training.

This role involves driving children (Child Workforce LW 9) and conveying adults who need to be transported due to age, illness, or disability (Adult Workforce LW 12). The position therefore meets the definition of regulated activity under both child and adult workforce legislative wording and is eligible for an Enhanced DBS check with relevant barred list checks.
