Job summary

Shooting Stars Nurseries in Bromsgrove is seeking an experienced Nursery Cook/Chef to join our friendly team. You will plan, prepare and serve nutritious meals for children aged 0-5, while accommodating allergies and dietary requirements.

The position is permanent, part-time, 15 hours per week across two consecutive days. We value high standards of kitchen hygiene and cost management, and you will work closely with the nursery team to create positive mealtime experiences for children.

Qualifications

• Food allergy awareness training.
• Catering, hospitality or professional cookery qualification required.
• Experience in nursery, school, care home, hospital or similar catering environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and serve healthy meals and snacks for children aged 0-5.
• Create menus meeting nutritional needs and encourage healthy eating.
• Cater for allergies and dietary requirements.
• Order food and manage stock levels.
• Maintain food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen organisation.
• Ensure compliance with safety and nursery procedures.
• Complete food safety records.
• Work with the nursery team to provide positive mealtime experiences.
