inspiring vet care is seeking an enthusiastic OOH Veterinary Nurse to join Penmellyn Vets in St Columb Major on a part-time basis. The role is primarily based at our main hospital with out-of-hours service.

You’ll deliver high-quality nursing care in a busy hospital environment and support clients and the veterinary team. The ideal candidate will be a Registered Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS, have experience in clinical practice, and enjoy teamwork.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS.
• Experience in clinical practice with an interest in OOHs and wards nursing.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Post-operative care and management of surgical inpatients, including orthopaedic cases.
• Medical and surgical management of a varied caseload.
• Assisting with and performing a range of surgical procedures.
• Providing ECC care, including blood transfusions via the Pet Blood Bank.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-orientated OOH Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Penmellyn Vets on a part-time basis.

Located in the heart of Mid Cornwall, Penmellyn Vets has a main hospital in St Columb, supported by 5 branch surgeries throughout the area.This role will be primarily based at our main hospital, where our out-of-hours service is also based.

Practice Highlights

• Experienced, well-supported team
• Busy hospital caseload with regular medical, surgical and orthopaedic referrals
• Overnight support, with twilight, prep nurse and morning SVN cover

How You’ll Make a Difference

As an OOH Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

Working Pattern

• 31.25 hours per week
• 2 days every other week on a rolling rota – Wednesday & Friday in Week 1 (with potential for 3 days) and Monday, Friday Saturday in Week 2.
• Shift times are 7:30pm – 8:00am
