Job summary

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking two part-time Switchboard Operators to cover 22-hour and 15-hour shifts on a two-week rota. The role requires experience of digital switchboards, strong communication, and proficient use of computer systems.

Qualifications

• Experience operating a switchboard and handling calls.
• Proficiency in written English and interpersonal communication.
• Good computer literacy and ability to use phone and email systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate the telecommunications service via computerised switchboard consoles.
• Manage telephone and email enquiries and maintain accurate records.
• Respond to emergency calls and log incidents according to procedures.
• Transfer calls, take messages accurately, and assist team members as needed.
• Cover shifts as required, including nights and weekends.
