Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a capable Staff Nurse to join the Maxillofacial Team and wound care clinic. The post holder will contribute to a patient-centred care pathway for post-operative maxillofacial patients, including head & neck cancer and facial trauma.

You will receive training, work part-time, and develop skills in wound care, dressings and theatre support within a nurse-led dressing clinic.

Qualifications

• Wound care and dressing experience.
• Outpatients clinic experience.
• Current UK professional registration (NMC).

Responsabilités

• Carry out a full range of registered nurse duties including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
• Work without direct supervision once induction/foundation/preceptorship is completed.
• Monitor patient care and maintain high standards of quality.
• Prioritise nursing care and alert senior staff on deterioration.
• Maintain accurate, contemporaneous written records.
• Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team, patients and relatives.
• Foster good relationships with other departments and staff.
• Assist with health education and explanations of treatment to patients and relatives.
• Help run Maxillofacial and Head and neck Oncology clinics and facial trauma clinics.
• Assist clinicians with Minor Oral Surgery and IV sedation cases.
