Job summary

Octopus Energy Group is seeking a brilliant, hands-on Accountant to support monthly management reporting, year-end statements, and VAT filing on a 2–3 day per week basis. The role is remote with occasional travel to our London office, offering a practical, no-nonsense finance environment.

You will bring ACA/ACCA qualifications, strong accounting and reporting skills, and an eye for detail as you help wrap up ECO projects and oversee regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA/ACCA with solid financial reporting experience.
• Experience with VAT, audits, and statutory reporting would be a bonus.
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Monthly management reporting, including month-end workbooks and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Preparation of year-end financial statements with group and tax teams.
• Filing of VAT returns.
• Lead the ECO scheme wind-down and related regulatory engagements.
• Support the transition of the business as it moves to dormant entity accounts.
