Job summary

Transaction Recruitment is seeking a qualified Management Accountant for a part-time position in Halesowen. The role focuses on producing monthly management accounts, cash flow forecasting and variance analysis within a small finance team.

The successful candidate will handle month-end close, journal postings, and balance sheet reconciliations, with a flexible 4-day week and an emphasis on training and development. The role offers a supportive working environment.

Qualifications

• AAT Level 4 (or equivalent) qualification or proven experience.
• Experience preparing management accounts and reports.
• Strong double-entry bookkeeping skills with journal posting.
• Experience reconciling balance sheet accounts and completing reconciliations.
• Excellent Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software (Xero preferred).
• Ability to work with some autonomy and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts, supporting schedules, and income/expense reports.
• Assist with budget monitoring, variance analysis and cash flow forecasting.
• Manage month-end close, including accruals and prepayments journals.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain trial balance accuracy.
• Oversee purchase and sales ledgers, invoices, credits and supplier statements.
• Support payroll checks and pension reporting; assist year-end audits.
• Contribute to improvements in finance systems, controls and management reporting.
