Job summary

The Ashton Care Home in Hinckley is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to help keep the home safe, well maintained and comfortable for residents. The role covers a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, with a hands-on, practical approach and attention to detail.

You will perform repairs, basic electrical checks, installations and general upkeep, ensuring systems run smoothly. The successful candidate will work 16 hours over the week, with DBS, pension and uniform provided.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in maintenance, facilities or a similar role.
• Basic knowledge of general repairs, electrical and building maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.
• A proactive and practical approach.
• Reliable, organised and able to problem solve.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs and upkeep.
• Perform basic electrical checks, installations and general upkeep.
• Ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently, responding promptly to issues.
• Support planned maintenance and health & safety procedures.
• Work independently and with the team to maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
