Job summary

The Ashton Care Home in Hinckley is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to keep the home safe, comfortable and well maintained. The role involves hands-on maintenance across the building and grounds, with repairs, basic electrical checks and installations, and involvement in planned maintenance.

16 hours per week at £12.71 per hour with benefits including DBS, pension and uniform. The role requires reliability, organisation and the ability to manage workload independently while adhering to health

Qualifications

• Previous experience in maintenance, facilities or a similar role.
• Basic knowledge of general repairs, electrical and building maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, basic electrical checks, installations and general upkeep.
• Ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently, responding promptly to issues and supporting planned maintenance.
• Work independently and with the team, following health and safety procedures and helping maintain a well organized, safe environment.
• Support compliance checks and help maintain a welcoming environment for residents and staff.
• Flexibly work 16 hours over the week to meet maintenance needs.
