Job summary

Herefordshire Council is seeking a reliable Delivered Services Driver/Assistant to perform library deliveries across Herefordshire on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will operate an Extended Long Wheelbase Transit, load and unload crates, and ensure timely, safe deliveries to libraries and other sites.

The role requires a full clean UK driving licence, physical fitness for lifting crates, and an Enhanced DBS check.

Qualifications

• Full clean driving licence (UK category B or above) and ability to drive larger vehicles.
• Good communication skills.
• Familiar with using standard IT systems.
• Enhanced DBS required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver books and materials to libraries and other sites across Herefordshire.
• Load/unload the van and prepare deliveries; drive the vehicle safely.
• Assist with daily library deliveries and occasional home deliveries.
• Work as part of a team while also capable of independent working.
