Job summary

Booker is seeking a driver for an 18T rigid vehicle to deliver goods primarily within the Greater London area, with occasional longer trips. The role involves pre-shift safety checks, assisting with deliveries with a driver’s mate, and handling goods at customer premises.

Strong local route knowledge and multi-drop experience are essential. You will need a UK Class 2 licence, Digital Tacho card, and a current CPC card with annual training.

Qualifications

• UK Class 2 licence with up to 6 penalty points (clean licence preferred).
• Valid Digital Tacho card required.
• Current CPC card with up-to-date training (7 hours per year).
• Non-UK licence holders must exchange CPC/Tacho for UK equivalents before employment or renewal.

Responsibilities

• Plan delivery schedules and routes with transport managers.
• Ensure loads are securely fastened for safety.
• Monitor traffic and adjust routes to avoid delays.
• Complete delivery paperwork and logbooks.
• Load/unload packages with care; operate in customer-facing environments.
• Have good local knowledge of the delivery area and perform multi-drop deliveries.
