Job summary

Lincoln College Library seeks a part-time Library Assistant to support the Librarian and Deputy Librarian in delivering a high-quality library service. The role involves loans, shelving, cataloguing support, and user assistance within a historic Oxford college environment.

The position is 18.75 hours per week on a 2-year fixed term basis, with NSP 14-16 salary (50% of £27,534-£28,437 p.a.). Training and pension OSPS applicable; lunch provided on duty.

Qualifications

• Experience in a library or customer service environment is an advantage; comprehensive training provided.
• Able to lift and move heavy books.
• Enrolment in the Oxford Staff Pension Scheme (OSPS).
• Professional qualification in Librarianship or Information Science (part-time/distance learning).

Responsibilities

• Check in and renew loans using the Alma Fulfilment module.
• Process books for the holds shelf and shelving.
• Monitor alarms from CCTV and assist library users with the SOLO catalogue.
• Maintain quiet working atmosphere, security and discipline.
• Assist Deputy Librarian and deputise when necessary.
