Job summary

Knowsley Community College is seeking a Lecturer in English on a fixed-term contract until July 2027. The post is 6.5 hours per week (0.18 FTE), offered on a pro rata basis. The role involves delivering English lessons, assessing progress and supporting students to reach their learning goals.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative English team, hold a relevant degree and teaching qualification, and be committed to inclusive education in further education settings.

About You

• Has experience teaching English, ideally within Further Education or an equivalent setting.
• Holds a relevant degree or professional qualification.
• Holds a recognised teaching qualification (or is willing to work towards one).
• Has GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above.
• Can motivate and inspire learners from a range of backgrounds and abilities.
• Has excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Is passionate about supporting student success and achievement.
