Job summary

St Helens College and Knowsley Community College are seeking a motivated Lecturer in English to deliver engaging teaching across FE, HE and work-based learning.

The role is a part-time, fixed-term contract until July 2027, 0.4 FTE (15 hours per week). You will hold a relevant degree, a recognised teaching qualification (or commit to achieving one) and support students to reach their English qualifications and develop essential skills.

Qualifications

• Experience of teaching FE students.
• Hold a relevant degree (a higher degree is desirable).
• Hold a recognised teaching qualification or be willing to achieve this within an agreed timeframe after appointment.
• Have GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above.
• Be highly organised with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate a genuine commitment to helping students succeed and achieve their goals.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
• Coordinate, deliver and assess courses across Further Education, Higher Education and work-based learning programmes.
• Work closely with the Head of School and Deputy Head of School to maintain high academic standards and learner experience.

Working closely with the Head of School and Deputy Head of School, you will coordinate, deliver and assess courses across Further Education, Higher Education and work-based learning programmes. You'll be part of a collaborative team committed to maintaining high academic standards and delivering an outstanding learner experience.

About You
