Job summary

Knowsley Community College invites applications for a part-time Lecturer in English to join our team. You will deliver engaging teaching across Further Education, higher education and work-based learning, helping students build strong English skills and progress in their studies.

At St Helens College and Knowsley Community College, we are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Lecturer in English to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire Further Education students, helping them develop essential English skills, achieve their qualifications and progress confidently towards their future careers and ambitions.

As a Lecturer in English, you will deliver engaging, high-quality teaching and learning experiences that motivate students to succeed. You will play a key role in helping learners overcome barriers, build confidence and achieve outstanding outcomes, while contributing to our mission of providing exceptional education, training and skills opportunities for all.

Working closely with the Head of School and Deputy Head of School, you will coordinate, deliver and assess courses across Further Education, Higher Education and work-based learning programmes. You'll be part of a collaborative team committed to maintaining high academic standards and delivering an outstanding learner experience.

About You

We are looking for someone who is passionate about teaching and dedicated to helping learners reach their full potential.

You Will

• Have experience of teaching and motivating Further Education students.
• Hold a relevant degree (a higher degree is desirable).
• Hold a recognised teaching qualification or equivalent, or be willing to achieve this within an agreed timeframe following appointment.
• Have GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above.
• Be highly organised with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate a genuine commitment to helping students succeed and achieve their goals.
