Job summary

Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Primary School seeks a Learning Support Assistant to support a student with an EHCP in Year 8 from September. You will join a small two-person team to meet needs, with training provided and a focus on learning, wellbeing and inclusion.

The role is fixed-term for six months, part-time, term-time only, and dependent on funding. You’ll work under the SENDCO and class teachers to implement the student’s plan and promote inclusion.

Qualifications

• Empathy and motivation to support a student with SEND.
• Interest in working with children with SEND and willingness to undergo training.
• Ability to work as part of a small team.

Responsibilities

• Understand the student’s needs and promote independence and inclusion.
• Support learning in and out of class and maintain behaviour standards as per policy.
• Assist with personal care and safety, including equipment and mobility aids.
• Attend to social, emotional wellbeing and accompany to lessons.
• Liaise with SENDCO and class teacher and participate in training.
