Job summary

Weston College is seeking a Learning Support Assistant for a part-time, term-time only role (38 weeks, 29.6 hours/week across 4 days). You will deliver essential learning support to students with SEND, particularly those with EHCPs, to help them become more independent and reach their potential.

You will write ALS Plans for a caseload, provide 1:1 or small-group support, and assist students in all college activities.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
• Experience of working within an education or social care setting.
• Knowledge and understanding of learning difficulties and disabilities, and the impact this has on learning.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a range of other professionals.

Responsibilities

• To write and implement high-quality Additional Learning Support (ALS) Plans for an agreed caseload of students.
• To provide regular support for an identified caseload of students, either 1:1 or in small groups.
• To support students to participate in all aspects of college activity and develop study skills and independent learning.
