Job summary

Prime Life is seeking a Laundry Assistant to support residents at Lutterworth Country House in Bitteswell near Lutterworth. The role is part-time (19.25 hrs per week) with free transport links for applicants from Leicester and an hourly pay band of £12.96–£13.32 depending on qualification.

You will handle residents’ personal clothing and household laundry, maintain high hygiene standards, and work under the Hotel Services/Care Home Management. Training is provided and DBS is fully funded.

Qualifications

• Genuine caring nature and desire to make a real difference for residents.
• Prior experience as Laundry Assistant is desirable but not essential as full training is provided.
• Residents live with age related conditions, life-limiting health conditions and physical disabilities requiring dignified support.
• Dementia experience would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Processing residents personal clothing and household laundry to a high standard within the laundry service.
• Ensuring items requiring thermal disinfection are processed correctly and infection control procedures are followed.
• Ironing/pressing personal clothing and household laundry to a high standard.
• Ensuring items of personal clothing and household linen are in good repair and flagging issues to the Manager.
• Maintaining all areas of the laundry, equipment and linen cupboards in a clean, hygienic condition.

This role will be based at Lutterworth Country House, in the heart of Bitteswell near Lutterworth. The home has been specially designed to cater to the every need of 66 residents, living with a range of age related, physical and mental health conditions that require dignified support from our caring team. Additionally, many of our residents are living with early onset and advance stages of Dementia. It is essential that candidates for this role are therefore patient, understanding and respectful of our resident’s individual abilities.

Prime Life offer free transport links for applicants living within Leicester, with daily transport running from our central location to the home in time for the start and end of your shifts!

Responsibilities Of Our Laundry Assistant Include

• Processing residents personal clothing and household laundry to a high standard within the laundry service


• Ensuring that any items that require thermal disinfection are processed correctly and that infection control procedures are strictly adhered to


• Ensuring that all items of personal and household laundry are ironed/pressed to a high standard


• Ensuring that all items of personal clothing and household linen are in a good state of repair and to bring to the attention of the Hotel Services Manager/Care Home Manager when they are not


• Maintaining all areas of the laundry, equipment and linen cupboards in a clean, tidy and hygienic condition, ensuring stock levels are adequate


• Remaining professional and courteous at all times with residents, colleagues, external professionals, family members and visitors to the home


• Following any health & safety procedures required of you and to ensure that any health and safety risks are reported to the Manager immediately


• Any other reasonable duties, as requested by your Manager, to meet the changing needs of the business
