Job summary

Potters Resorts Five Lakes is seeking a Kitchen Porter to support a busy kitchen team. You will help keep the area clean, assist with food prep, wash dishes, and ensure hygiene standards are met. Part-time role, about 20–25 hours per week, with shifts 7:30am–4:00pm or 2:00pm–10:30pm.

Pay ranges from £10.85 to £12.71 per hour depending on age. A UK driving licence and own vehicle are essential. This is a permanent role not suitable for students on college/university holidays.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Understanding of hygiene and food safety standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
• Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to work well as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
• This is a physically demanding role.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize kitchen dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and cooking equipment.
• Ensure all kitchen work areas, including floors and surfaces, are kept clean and hygienic.
• Assist with food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, and helping chefs as needed.
• Collect and dispose of kitchen waste in a safe and efficient manner.
• Ensure that all food and equipment are stored properly to maintain health and safety standards.
• Assist with deliveries, ensuring stock is organized and stored appropriately.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain hygiene standards in line with Food Safety regulations.
• Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with colleagues and supervisors.
• Adhere to the company’s health and safety policies and procedures.
