Job summary

Barchester Healthcare is seeking a friendly, skilled Bank Chef to support our kitchen teams across our care homes. This part-time role focuses on delivering fresh, seasonal dishes that meet high standards while promoting resident wellbeing and a warm dining experience.

You will assist the Head Chef, help manage menus within budgets, and ensure nutrition is balanced and meals are enjoyable for residents. Commitment to HACCP and food safety is essential, with a patient, team-oriented approach

Qualifications

• Personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in residents' wellbeing.
• Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent.
• Experience in helping lead and inspire a team.
• Good understanding of nutrition.
• Experience of working with fresh seasonal food.
• Ability to create a warm and welcoming environment within the home.
• Strong HACCP knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.
• Work with fresh produce to deliver high quality, wholesome dishes cooked to high standards.
