Job summary

ShortList Recruitment Limited is seeking a Fractional IT Director for a Midlands-based part-time engagement in Leicester. You will provide senior technology leadership, set strategy, and oversee governance, risk and IT operations, mentoring the existing team.

The role is circa £600 per day, outside IR35, requiring about 2 days per week with some office presence in the Midlands. This is a flexible, strategic advisory position aimed at guiding growth and preparing for future investment.

Qualifications

• Extensive senior IT leadership experience at director/CTO level.
• Experience with IT governance, risk, and compliance.
• Experience managing IT teams and third‑party suppliers.
• Experience with private equity-backed or investment-led businesses is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic technology leadership to the senior leadership team.
• Oversee IT operations, infrastructure, security, governance and risk.
• Mentor the technology team and guide delivery.
• Support development and execution of the technology strategy.
• Oversee suppliers, service delivery, budgets and investment; assist due diligence.
• Act as escalation point for day-to-day delivery.
