Job summary

Michael Hall School is seeking a part-time HR Assistant to deliver a confidential HR service across the school. The role covers recruitment, onboarding, DBS checks, safeguarding, payroll liaison and employee wellbeing, within a 16-hour week.

Start date is immediate, with a 3-month probation, and working hours to be discussed at interview. The post supports the Principal and SLT, ensuring compliance with UK employment law and education-sector regulations, while maintaining accurate HR records and

• Excellent IT skills including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Able to prioritise competing demands and manage a busy workload.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a comprehensive HR service across the school, supporting the full employee lifecycle.
• Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, DBS checks and safeguarding procedures.
• Support payroll, absence management, and employee wellbeing initiatives.
• Maintain HR records, data protection compliance and confidentiality.
• Assist with internal audits, training coordination and HR reporting.
