Job summary

Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Domestic Assistant to help keep wards, offices and public areas clean to a high standard within the hospital setting. You will join the domestic service team and support infection prevention and patient wellbeing.

Hours are part-time, typically Monday to Friday 7:00-10:00, with flexibility to work bank holidays. Training is provided, and NVQ Level 1 in cleaning may be required.

Qualifications

• No formal entry requirement for domestic roles, but NVQ Level 1 in cleaning may be required.
• Ability to communicate well and demonstrate a caring, sensitive approach.
• Physical fitness is important for long hours on your feet and safe lifting techniques.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning in patients' rooms, wards, toilets and corridors.
• Maintain a high standard of infection prevention and cleanliness.
• Work as part of the domestic service team and hospital staff to support a safe, clean environment.
• Follow safety procedures, use cleaning equipment appropriately and attend training.
