Job summary

Willoughby Road Primary Academy in Scunthorpe is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our academy in November 2026 on a part-time, temporary basis.

The HLTA will complement teachers’ delivery of the curriculum, assist in planning, monitoring, assessing and managing classes, supervise pupils during short-term absences, and promote pupil welfare and inclusion across academy life within the Delta Academies Trust.

Responsibilities

• Complement teachers’ delivery of the curriculum and support staff, pupils and academy policies.
• Assist with the planning cycle and the management and preparation of resources.
• Supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absences.
• Support pupils, teachers and the academy to raise achievement and promote independent learning.
• Support pupil welfare and inclusion across all aspects of academy life.
