Job summary

Veritas Education is recruiting a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support the Nursery Class at Lancaster Primary School from September 2026. The role is part-time, term-time only, with Thursday afternoons and Friday full days, working closely with the Nursery team to foster high-quality early years learning.

The ideal candidate will hold HLTA status or equivalent, have EYFS knowledge, and excellent communication skills.

Veritas Education is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive Primary School in Lancaster for a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support their Nursery Class.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HLTA or Early Years practitioner who is passionate about supporting young children during the crucial early stages of their education.

• Role: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Nursery Class
• Location: Lancaster
• Start Date: September 2026
• Hours: Thursday afternoons
• Hours: Fridays (full day)
• Contract: Part-time, term-time only

The Role

The successful candidate will work closely with the Nursery team to provide high-quality learning experiences, support children's development, and help create a nurturing and engaging learning environment. Duties may include leading small groups, supporting planned activities, covering lessons where required, and contributing to children's progress and wellbeing.

• HLTA status or equivalent relevant qualifications/experience
• Previous experience working within an Early Years or Primary setting
• A strong understanding of the EYFS framework
