The Junction Surgery in Huddersfield is seeking a proactive Healthcare Assistant to support a busy GP practice team. You will contribute to routine patient care and support management of long-term conditions in a teaching-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Caring, compassionate and committed to patient care.
• Experienced Healthcare Assistant, ideally in general practice.
• Confident with phlebotomy, BP monitoring, dressings and wound care.
• Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
• Organised, reliable and able to work independently and with others.
• Enthusiastic about professional development and expanding clinical skills.

Responsibilities

• Phlebotomy and blood pressure monitoring.
• Wound care including dressings and changes.
• NHS Health Checks and cardiovascular risk assessments.
• ECG recordings.
• Support chronic disease reviews (diabetes, CVD).
• Routine health screening and clinical observations.
• Health promotion, lifestyle advice and preventative care.
• Assist GPs and practice nurses with procedures.
• Maintain accurate EMIS Web records.
• Support infection prevention and control.
• Duties reflect training and competencies with supervision as needed.
